NEON- Re:legal rubber boots

Does anyone know of a safe distance from a metal surface? As the
transfos can throw a decent sized arc, what about the possibility of shorting
to say a nail or bolt under spackle or a facade? Would the presence of rain
increase this possibility?

Had this problem several times. The Masters install manual recommends a
shot of severe duty silicone spray. It seems to work well.
