Temperature indicator crayons change color at a specific temperature and are 
quite reliable. For example, one may go from yellow to red/brown and 550 degrees 
F. They don't tell what the temp is, only that you've reached or exceeded the 
set temperature. They're a cheap backup. Find at Eurocom -- 4 bucks each ..
