If you have a dirty manifold and dirty oil, you will notice the addition of
an aspirator immediately. If you keep your system clean & well tuned, you
will have a consistently reliable product and your manifold & oil will stay
cleaner longer.

Your personal tolerance for a dirty system changes dramatically. The shift
to less than excellent output is more immediate and thus you catch it and
correct it faster. I think there is a more gradual decline from 'fine' to
'poor' with just a mechanical pump. With even just the aspirator you go a
long time at 'great', and then eventually you get a sudden decline to 'not
so great' (which is generally still a higher level, I think than when the
mechanical pump is just below 'fine'. My next rebuild will incorporate the
new out of the box glass diff pump I scored for $10 when Tubelite was
cleaning house last year. (Sorry, last one).
