Actually arc-through isn't a problem; I use the voltage-limiting twin-wire
arc-gap method of taming the (in my case) 30 kv beast.
If I have, say, pair of eight-foot straights to pump, I'll open up the gap,
since there's no danger of arcing.
If I have 10mm pieces w/ tight design (arc-city!) then I'll adjust the gap
in tighter. I also have the option of leaving the bombarder in '"normal"
mode, and pumping just like the old days (15 kv max).
