Dear Sean, 
I use them for small artwork, 2 - 6 mm tubing. I think you're goin' the
right way to slightly oversize the 'trode. But beware of "undereloading" them
too much. Often outside discharges are observed when running 20 - 40% of the 
rated electrode current. A further subject of my investigations why. 
I'll report when the research has given some obvious results.
