As anyone should have been able to plainly see, my response was strictly limited to *processing* the repaired tube, not heating it in an open fire: “…there are ways to do it and keep your manifold and pumps clean.” Obviously repairing the old glass by heating it in an open flame is an entirely different matter, just as bending and pumping have always been inherently different.
