Metal Window Sign Frames

Anyone making their own metal frames for their window signs? I have been bending acrylic mostly but want to start making these up using 3/8" x 1/8" metal bar stock.

Some of the ones I have obtained are welded together. I would probably have to use rivets or screws.

Looking for some tips from someone who is or has done them in the past.
