RIP Rudi Stern

I just received my new ST mag today and it's the first I heard of Rudi Stern's passing last month. There aren't enough words to describe this man's influence over this modern generation of benders and how he radically transformed neon from being just a sign trade to the vast array of neon art and creativity we see today. It was Rudi's "Let There Be Neon" that would help pick me up when, as an apprentice twenty years ago, I would come home burned and depressed from eight hours of frustration at not being able to get a decent bend. His enthusiasm was contagious and it helped me stick with this beautiful craft. I'm sure many of you share the same feeling about his contributions. Read the ST articles about him if you get a chance, especially Wade Swormstedt's piece at the end of the magazine. The guy had a hell of a run.
My condolences to his family and friends in NYC and throughout the world.-- Chris.
