Of course it will work for the purple and the violet, but the BB is not
exitating the powder only reflecting, as the powder is in a close ratio
of the same wavelength of the BB.
But be carefull even with the BB tubes or bulbs. This lies in the fact
that our iris (in the eye, I hope that I use the correct word) is not
focussing to BB light. That makes it so dangerous, the iris is wide open
and at the same time receiving an enormous amount of light. If this
happens in sunlight the iris is immediately reacting producing a smaller
diaphragma simulat to what we do we do with a camera lense when we must
take a picture at noon. Our eye is not doing that to BB light.
