I just wanted to comment on the state of the neon industry as I see it today. There are many reasons why we are seeing a slowdown in our art and way of life. I think the number one reason is in fact, LED's, pushed by a liberal agenda and an ultra-liberal "green" crazy administation. The fact is that neon is just as good (or better) of an option as LED's, and this is what needs to be sold to the customer. (see The Neon Group.com for some good ammunition).
I've been bending neon here for 25 years. It's been a great source of income for my family and I, and thanks to it, has given us a very comfortable way of life. Still today, I have a backlog of neon to be bent, with several jobs on the horizon.
Luckily I have a boss that is sold on neon, mainly because of the way I've done it through the years. I can see why some people would shy away from neon when I see some of the shoddy workmanship in both bending and installation.
