Is it coated or uncoated colored glass or coated clear glass? How old is the sign? Have you looked real close around the tube supports to see if there is any paint scraped away? The Electrobits tube paint meant to imitate classic colors is typically used over white glass, but doesn't have to be. If you were to use "Bromo blue" paint over a shade of blue tubing it would most likely appear a deeper, unusual blue.
