Daco manifold leak

Ok just got an old plant from a shop, was in storage for a while, set it up, cleaned and inspected rings all looks good. Start up the pump and cannot pull more that 50 microns.....as soon as I shut the stopcock to the vacuum gauge, she rockets up. I check the fill gauge and close the stopcock there to see if there is a leak beyond that. The level moves a tiny bit after 8 hours or so, but not much at all. I figure the vacuum gauge is the culprit. Remove it clean up the o-ring, no cracks and nice and soft. Put it back together and the leak was WORSE! Did it all again, hot soapy water on the o-ring wiped down outside of glass. The metal sensor doesn't look perfect, but I have never used one like this before. So the questions: What size are the O-rings? Can i get one of the kits on Ebay of Viton that are in English measurements (1/2, 3/4 etc.)? Is there something i am missing with this metal to glass connection? AGH!!!
