In Response To: Re: Shop insurance?? (stampeder)

The problem with quick-typed replies on message boards and such is that you CANNOT tell a persons demeanor when you are reading it unless someone literally tells you to f**k off or something similar. I am not trying to defend Darryl (he is more than capable of doing that himself if he feels so inclined). I’m just making a point about one of the problems with message boards, etc. Now, if you have talked to him on the phone a few times as I have, you would no doubt realize that you are off base with your comment about his “attitude”. He is passionate about our industry as are a lot of us. Some express themselves better than others, but I suspect they also spend a lot more time typing, re-reading and re-typing than others do. You may not agree with what he says or his recommendations, but he has just as much right to express them without retribution as you or anyone else does.

And speaking of attitudes, some may perceived that you could lose a little too. (Go back with an open mind and re-read the way you worded what you said and see what I mean.)

As for your comment about the attitude of “a pyrex manifold maker years ago”, you sound like the pot calling the kettle black. There are two sides to every story, right? So let’s hear your side of that situation first – assuming you can control *your* attitude to do so. Then, with any luck, we may hear from the other side too so we all know both sides of the story and can come to our own conclusions instead of what your comments are trying to get people to believe.
