Lead and lead free

I’m getting back into bending after 6 years off. I’m going to be trying to do repair work only in my area. The gentleman who sold me my plant and showed me the basics recently passed away and I have more questions that I didn’t get to ask.
First question is it possible to mix lead glass and lead free glass and get a sturdy repair? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
