air pump

Hi all.

I have been using a circa 1940's roots pump for my air and she sounds like she is going to die any minute.

I picked up a 2504DVJ pump and have it running off a 3/4 horse motor, purrs softly. But I am not getting enough air out of it. Has anyone used a pump like this before? What size pulley are the best. The motor is turning at 1725 rpm with a 3" pulley on the motor and a 6" on the pump. Not even enough airflow to get the cannon fire all alone on it. Any ideas or suggestions?
