I use 20lb propane tanks (Easy to handle/transport & readily available)with an adjustable regulator w/gauge.
Usually @ 7-8psi.http://gashosesandregulators.com/highpressureregulators.html
Hard to give an estimate on how long a tank would last. That would depend on your workload.
A 20lb tank lasts me anywhere from approx.1-3 months, depending on how busy I am (which varys quite a bit anymore).FYI, Storing propane tanks inside is highly dangerous and most likely (technically) illegal in most areas. But then I see acetylene tanks paired with oxygen tanks in shops everywhere. Many fork lifts, etc. are powered by LP gas tanks also, and kept inside.
