I use the core/coil transformer (with ground fault) and a suitable dimmer, they just keep dimming it to the point where it starts to flicker and then complain. We don't install the dimmer, I think there may be a way to set the 'bottom end,' but they REALLY dim it down low.

Luckily, the plasti-dip smoke SPRAY works quite well, and I applied it as you suggested.

This is one coat. I sprayed the back of the tube first, let it set, then flipped it and sprayed the face. Nice even passes applied left-right from different angles.

I am giving the white a second coat to even it's brightness to the neo-ruby.
