Yes, I knew the mixing gases reply was complete rubbish but I had to put the question out there before getting into further discussions with the supplier. Mercury migration can be accentuated by a few factors so im told.. mixing the gases with an electronic transformer might just be one of those factors especially if a diode has been used to clip the beading on neon tubes and the circuit then has some sort of DC polarity effect.. this is where my mind went anyway!
NeonPro transformer are very good, but the rights to these was snapped up here a few years back now. I used to resell them at under the price it now costs me to buy.. Ive had discussion with neonPro who will actually supply to us despite their agreement so long as I have an extremely large minimum order but spending $10,000 on a shipment of 10KV transformers and $10,000 on 7.5KV etc just aint good business these days. In the meantime, we shall try and find a solution with our current supplier whilst searching for other manufacturers of electronic transformers... they cant all have moved away from neon to LED SMPS surely?
