Eurocoms HG electrode is a Philips Lighting capsule. The original had 19mg of HG per electrode, one capsule per electrode, a total then of 38mg per AR/HG unit.
The capsule is used in the ALTO brand Fluorescent lamps with as little as 4mg of HG. The capsule was enlarged for AR neon Lamps to 19mg.

The EGL HG electrode ( 2007 ) Has 100mg of HG in their capsule. Only one is used per AR unit. You must shake the HG to the other electrode after opening. I have not heard of any failures with EGLs Newer design. EGL states that they pioneered theirs from the ground up, NOT borrowing from the fluorescent industry.

You need an RF device to open the capsule after processing the argon unit. I believe a eurcom wand(RF device) will open EGLs Capsule. The original Eurocom wand sold for 1200.00 not sure what EGLs is selling for.

One can see the difference easily between the two companies invention. The EGL Capsule is attached to one of the wires just inside the pinched area and is larger than the Eurocom Type, plus you can easily see the HG in the EGL unit.
The eurocom HG capsule is much smaller and is placed on a seperate metal piece in between the two wires above the shell, before the pinched area. I have pictures of both and will try to put a link to them later.
