> be appreciated. Thanks.Lately I've just been using Adobe Illustrator. You can do everything to scale pretty easily, since it's vector drawing -- working on a 36x48" image isn't a big deal. And it can dimension interchangeably in inches and metric, so you can do inches for the overall scale and still stroke in mm, for the tubing.
My workflow is basically: import whatever reference material (photograph of paper sketch, etc), use pen tool to draw a path over the top of it, set the path stroke for the diameter of neon, add dimensional information, send to customer as a proof. To produce a pattern, I change the colors to be high contrast with a white background and either project it to scale and trace, or print. It is pretty easy to get the exact path length from illustrator, but I don't really need a program to tell me where to put electrodes or how many transformers to use, etc.
I looked at Neon Wizard for a while, and basically concluded that it was aimed at the wholesale channel letter game, which isn't what I do.
