In Response To: Re: Pegasus neon (SVP Neon Equipment)

This particular sign does have housing holes. It also has a couple of surface jumps. The sign came to the shop with peanut housings, electronic transformers which seem to be about 12 years old or so, and a number is spring tube supports. My initial reaction was that the sign may have been a shoe-box style, and had been "updated" with new wiring. This initial thought was due to the scary thought of someone trying to drill a housing hole through porcelain finish.

Since my post, I have opened it up, and can see that it does have key-holed brackets on the inside, and that one of the housings is located directly on top of a shadow of an internal piece of framework, which had been intentionally removed (broken welds are visible). I am not sure how they managed to drill a clean hole through the finish, some are a little chipped, but not nowhere near what I would expect for a retro-fit through porcelain.

Thanks for your input Mark! As I said, I have found a dozen or so neon fit ones online with the three inch returns, but no two of them "match" as far as I can tell.

All things considered, it will be a nice sign once I'm done fixing it, boxing the back in for strength, and cleaning it. It even has a little animation in the wings. The customer is happy with it, even with my having to tell him it's not 100% authentic.
