Thanks for posting this... these are certainly worrying times for our industry.
There was a meeting of those in power a couple of weeks back that i knew of. My understanding of its agenda was that it was to ban the use of mercury in ALL products, but its main push was the prevention of mersury in dental fillings. Apparently only the Australian government opposed this.
I also read that the European Commission declared neon as RHOS compliant under section 4F in July of this year... and thats for TMCCFL (Tailor Made Cold cathode Flourescent Lighting). This ruling was for the stringent European RHOS and NOT the more relaxed Chinese version (They dont accept the higher European standards)
Certainly confusing due to conflicting reports
