I think you are having a compatibility issues. Having coated lead free tubing for more than a decade we have learned that halophosphates do not work well. The cracking problem probably will not go away until you change phosphors. You should not have this problem if you switch to a triphosphor white. Other problematic colors are standard blue and purple. Tecnolux has copied some of the tradition colors like blue and turquoise with triphosphors to avoid cracking problems with lead free. The upside to this is a dramatic reduction in staining, a great look (even with neon) and much better lumen maintenance. The down side is that it costs more but it seems that neon is being used for it's look more and not to cram in channel letters for the cheapest price. (lets save that for LED)
