I have been doing 8 ' straight border tubes and had 5 out of 50 break about 1/8" from the weld. I clean the coating back from the factory end about 1/8". Make the weld, check for straightness, place tube on blocks above the bench. I have been doing them this way for 50 years and in the past three weeks, have had more weld breakage than in the past 50 years. I have talked with the people at EGL, and so far we have not been able the get to the root of it. Any thoughts? Thanks, Don
