Beyond that, has it been tested with a high vacuum gauge (not a 0-30" vacuum gauge)? If so, what is the base pressure (ultimate vacuum) achieved? What brand and model vacuum gauge was used for testing? When was the last time the vacuum gauge was calibrated? How old is the pump? Will the seller guarantee the pump for at least 6 months? These are a few questions to start with. If it hasn't been tested and/or they are not willing to give you some kind of reasonable warranty, don't waste your time and money (We give a one year warranty on rebuilt Welch 1402's - the same as a new one). There are plenty of junk Welch 1402's out there that people are trying to get rid of, so be careful. And if it's an eBay item you are looking at, chances are the seller won't be able to answer any of these questions because they don't know what they have. They just found it along with other surplus stuff.
