If you sell them a unit or window sign that plugs in your liability ends once the product leaves your hands. 90% of neon shops do not supply a national market and have personal quality control. Independant neon shops are usually looked at as artisans not as a major lighting company. As for wholesale glass units you have no liability period, wholesale all falls on the end user.
The insurance for a shop is fairly simple, basic personal injury if you have visitors or a sales counter, building protection if your landlord don’t have it and protect your stock and equipment against loss.
Just some kind advice, pay attention to your fire and electrical codes stringently in your shop. One day it just might pay off. ;)
