HELP

The other day a lady brought in a Mortician sign for me to look at. She said it didn't light anymore and wondered if I could look at it. It is a glass tube about 2 1/2" diameter with tubulation at both ends, electrodes at both ends connected to steel wire inside the tube that spells "MORTICIAN", and 2 wires coming off the electrodes at one end that were hooked up to a cord that plugs directly into an outlet.
I put a spark coil to the wires and got a reddish glow that lit up the steel wire, so it has some gas and vacuum left.
I just wondered if anyone had any idea what this is, and if it is repairable in any way . Thanks.
