I have an original 1935 publication and it's on pg. 191 in that book.

There did not seem to be many safety concerns with Mercury then.

Yes, there's some pretty interesting stuff in that original book. A lot of the info. is actually useful, but some of it is definitely outdated practices. It's like a "NEON time capsule" to the 1930's. An interesting read.
