Dear Mr. Chris S.:
LED lamps have many components including a plastic dome and many other plastic components in the entire lamp module. But the tiny little part that gives off light based on electroluminescence is a semiconductor crystal and not plastic. The reason LED lamps can use a plastic dome in front is because LEDs give off cool light in front, although there is a fair amount of conductive heat in the back.
I am hardly taking my ball and going home; in fact I am responding to some of the unjustifiable shots at me that comes out of anger and frustration in this site.
The three reasonable things I would ask for you and some of the others to remember:
1) If you are taking a beating in the neon business due to LEDs or bad LEDs, don't take it out on me. There are many things about current LED lamps in the market that I don't like. And I have never spoke badly of the neon technology or a neon signmaker.
2) I am ready to take any shot from any neon of LED person in the industry - as long as the shots are valid in a sense that people are objecting to specifically what I said or do.
3) If the LED lamp industry is not being just, it is not my fault. I'd like to help out wherever I can with actual problem solving tools and work towards coming up with good solutions, pointing out challenges of LED lamps.
I hope that helps and please take any legitimate shot at me anytime - I'll always respond. Thus, I was asking for any real criticism or any real bias that anyone finds in the article, to which I'll be glad to respond.
Best regards,
Nisa Khan
