Additonal Info about LED

I heard from a supplier that Sloan LED is coming out with a new line of "less expensive" LEDs to compete with all those "other" LED companies that are popping up and taking away business. I think one of them is Maxx LED's which are priced right about if not cheaper a foot than neon. Seems to me that if more and more of these so called LED manufactures produce cheaper LED's and of course the sign companies will want to make as much as they can and possible cut corners to make an extra buck; it will only be a matter of time before the bottom falls out and bites them in the a$$!

I truly believe neon will be back, better than ever but it will take some refining. I too have seen retrofitting of LED signs back to neon due to the cost, repairs and efficiency being no different if not more than neon. In fact some customers complain the LED's are not bright like neon was.Verizon stores are a good example. Here in my town they are all LED including the window signs. Well, the windows signs were nice and bright brand new but now some of them are starting to burn out. The signs are not even a year old! You can see dark spots in the sign were the LED diodes have failed. They use to have neon window signs but those were a problem too due to being produce overseas and poor manufacturing. I repaired many of those of neon signs that went bad. That hurts our trade but what can you do when a corporation goes overseas for neon that is cheap? But again nothing changes.
