This is unusual. 6.5 ft. of 15mm is hardly any load at all. There may be something else going on.

Daco should be able to give you this info. If they can't (or won't), let me know and I can go over a couple of methods on the phone with you on measuring the voltage. But if it is one of their 12.5 KVA's, the secondary voltage is *supposed* to be 23,500.

The secondary current can be measured with a true RMS Iron Vane mA meter. You should already have one installed in the secondary circuit of the bombarder. If not, get your employer to buy one. Just clip the bombarder secondary leads together, turn on the bombarder and slowly turn up the choke while watching the meter. If the meter gets to 1,000 mA before the choke is turned up all the way, you have plenty of current for neon work. If the meter is a rectified meter, which Daco typically sells, it is not accurate enough IMO.
