Ummmmm the last time I looked Actown was alive and well since we still order core and coil transformers from them...... They still have a website.

As for the bezel, take a good look at it. It is not an EGL model. The Transco and Daco dial gauge is not like the EGL dial gauge. The face and meter movement are not "pressed on" as you indicate. The bezel unscrews so everything can easily be removed for service and calibration. It is very easy to examine the O-ring, glass window and housing mating surface to make sure they are in good shape. If the O-ring is not damaged there is no need to replace it. It is not necessary to "leak check" the instrument any more than it is necessary to leak check threaded O-ring compression fittings that are part of most Pyrex manifolds including EGL's. Close visual inspection and attention to detail are all that is required. Take a good look at the gauge and you will see the differences.
