Hand torch maintenance

My classroom touches are getting a bit touchy and don't seem to be as adjustable as a new torch. Is their a old times trick for cleaning the orifices ? I have used a welders torch tip cleaning files but not much help... I was wondering if there was a dipping process for cleaning the torch heads...
