Hi Mark,
Seems to be a professional video, a good starting point. I hope there's more to come, like _real_ information comparing neon to LED's. Something a sign company sales rep. could actually use to show the end user the truth about neon vs LED, a "apples for apples" comparison. I think the Neon Group is on the right track, and they'll get there with our help. Neon is "our" industry, it's up to us to keep in on track,no one else will. We have to get the real truth to the end user about LED's, as that industry is selling their product on misinformation. There's probably not many people around that remember when "plastics" took a big bite out of our trade,I lived thru it,but the LED thing could be much worse if not put in check.
Believe me, I know how these LED salespeople can get to corporate and sell their BS....I've lost 2 major accounts, over 25 years of using neon in their signs, to change over to LED based _only_ on "electrical consumption saving".(Funny thing is that they only changed the red signs, seems the white LED's didn't compare to CL71 brightness and price. I'm thinking PRICE was the factor here, not electrical consumption.) Not to mention the proven "failure rate" of the neon lighted letters was less than 1% for neon _and_ transformers,over a 20 year period, 500+ store locations with a average of 100+ neonunits per location. I can go on and on with this topic, but I'll shut up for now. It just boils down to the neonshops have to stand up to this situation, and I believe The Neon Group is our start, for us, and for sure future tubebenders.......
