I live in western canada....I used to be very busy doing wholesale glass [for other signshops] but my business is down about 95%.I went from having 4 employees to just myself,and I do almost no neon.Its a shame that sign shops are pushing LED on their customers so hard.Ive seen so many poor LED displays because LED is very easy to work with,therefore ANY shop can do channel letter jobs and such,and put out horrible looking work.Most customers dont know the difference....as long as it lights up they are happy.Most,if not all,sign shops in my area dont/wont even offer neon to their customers,including my largest customer,who are Canada wide.Anything thats non-exposed gets LED's instead of neon.Its sad because as of the last couple years I noticed the signs getting uglier and less imaginitive.In my area there is alot of generic cans with digital print/images,lit with LED.They are plain,boring,ugly and dont stand out whatsoever.Its too bad that the sign idustry is moving backwards,but customers buy what they are sold.
