purple glass pumped red

Problem ;
I made a new unit to replace a broken letter in an exposed neon sign .
Problem is the color of new unit is not even close to the rest of the letters in the sign.
glass is purple pumped with red gas(neon),
the sign is several years old.
Checked color of glass on broken unit with uv light.
any advice will be greatly appreciated.
