However, not knowing any more than we do about the process and technique used by the original poster, I agree that it may not be the electrodes.

> tube quality which should be perfect.I'm glad you mentioned "initial tube quality". This is only a short term test, and just because it comes on red does not necessarily mean it will stay red. A better test would be to process a red unit as you mention, but to run it on at least 4 times the electrodes rated current for at least a couple days. In other words, for a 30 mA electrode run it on 120 mA. For a 45 mA electrode, 180 mA, etc. If the unit stays red with little or no signs of electrode degradation you are on the right track. Running a full length 15mm electrode (most are rated at 80 mA) at 30 mA will not necessarily tell you anything. JMO
