If you are using water based paint you can use a plastic tray. I got a 36" x 18" x 6" plastic tray with lid at Wal-Mart for under $15.00. Make sure there are no holes in the bottom for wheels that many of the larger trays have on them. Some do, some don't. It may also be a good idea to build a frame for it to sit up off the table top and put a large drain valve in the bottom in case you ever want to move it (it will be difficult to move when full of paint). At least a 1" valve will allow the paint to flow out. Anything smaller and it will take forever to drain.
