Well , it seems like no one wanted to touch this one with a ten foot pole ! Maybe I shouldn't have mentioned a brand name - I'm not trying to crucify anyone here so I extend my humblest apologies if that's how it came off . I was just wondering if I was doing something incorrectly or if others have experienced this phenomenon . EGL , I think , is the only company left in the U.S. still making it's own electrodes on site as far as I know . I'd like to see them keep their mfg. operations here rather than sending them overseas but I will buy the products that seem to be the best whether they're from China or elsewhere . This is what forced the American car manufacturers to make better cars . People were tired of having their Fords , Dodges ,etc last only 5 years before they rusted out and/or needed some major repair so they started buying Japanese cars. American cars are now consequently much more reliable and efficient but , unfortunately , it took loss of market share rather than the willingness to make a quality product to bring about the change.
Maybe this sputtering issue that I'm experiencing is only a random or temporary quality control issue . I've used EGL's electrodes for most of my career and would like to continue using them . I'd also like to see them continue to dominate the american electrode market since buying a product made in your own country helps to keep the economy going as well as helping our fellow citizens to make a living . Thanks for reading !
