From my past experience when using tubelated electrodes, I let the trodes get cold before I dump the mercury. When dumping mercury on hot trodes, I had severe staining. As for the flicker problem, a slight flicker I have noticed does not present any damaging problems. Perhaps Sean S. from EGL will be able to explain further. Good Luck, Don
