Flow neon

Been looking for a GOOD flow neon transformer for some time, an old acquaintance in the business recommends the "Hansen" unit. I require this transformer to produce a solid band of light from one end of the tube to the other without it "balancing" out towards the end electrode and as such having the illuminated part coming from both ends. My source tells me that the Hansen units do not do this. Having spoken to my Hansen outlet in Australia i find that there are such things as "parallel" and "follower" units. Im presuming that the "parallel" unit has the band of light emanating from both ends and meeting in the middle of the tube, the "follower" im not sure of. Can anyone expand on these terms???
Many thanks,
Gavin
