Diffusion pump set-up

Anyone have some info on proper setup of a diffusion pump? hint..hint..
The lead man at the new shop I'm at thinks the diffusion oil should not be actively casscading while I feel the opposite. Looking for something other than just my opinion to share with him in order to increase speeds seeing as we only process one unit at a time with a one-sided system.
