Thanks Dana. As I thought, the context is the author suggesting that someone is speaking hypothetically. "On a good day I can make $75 an hour bending..." There are very few days that good! As James mentions below, IF you can do border tubes for enough money (good luck) you may be able to make that much. But that is not the case 99.9% of the time. That is very much the exception rather than the rule. When you take in to consideration that there are areas of the U.S. where shops are doing clear red (and sometimes std. colors too) border tubes for $1.75-$2.00/ft. you could not work fast enough to make that kind of money even if you had 10,000 feet of border to do.
