Single stroke : 3.5 X letter height X # of letters divided by 12 + 1 (this is for one pair of electrodes)
Double stroke : substitute 3.5 for 5.5
Triple stroke : substitute 3.5 for 8.5

or.... you get apx. 2.5, 6" letters from a 4 ft piece of glass.

or.... take a length of hose and mark it like a ruler and you can measure curves real easy.
